Women's and men's choir will celebrate the tradition of singing together by providing a wonderful concert in Cesis Castle Park.

Every summer there is a unique opportunity to hear the world-renowned violinist Gidons Kremers, the orchestra "Kremerata Baltica" (Grammy award winner, the chamber orchestra), it’s soloists and chamber ensembles, as well as other outstanding performers from Latvia and other countries.

In order to cultivate Latvian traditions, on June 18 in the Valmiermuiža manor park both young and old are invited for a genuinely Latvian pre-midsummer festival „Saulgriezis 2016”.

On the longest day and shortest night of the year, Latvians head to the country-side and make garlands, drink beer, eat caraway cheese, sing, dance, jump over the bon-fire, all up until dawn! Traditionally local folk groups invite to concert in Cesis Castle park “White clouds”.

From June 26 till July 9 in the manufactory of the Vaidava Ceramics Ltd. near Valmiera which is also part of the Rīga-Gauja European Region of Gastronomy the 1st International Pottery Symposium “CLAYMEAL” will be held. It will gather 17 artists from Latvia, Switzerland, the United States, Spain, Georgia, Argentine, Ireland, Norway, Turkey, Jordan, Russia, Finland and Israel to create dishes from the red clay found in the Lode quarry. Two world class pottery artists - Vincent Kampenaers from Belgium and Inita Reimandova from Latvia - will host the symposium.
