From August 2 until August 7 in the Valmiera Youth centre „Vinda” the Eastern European Championship in Model Auto Racing will be held.

Within the programme of the Valmiera Summer Theatre Festival are especially for this event put up plays by acknowledged local and international directors.

On August 6 from 11.00 until 15.00 with a great market, traditional delicacies, creative workshops, games and traditions the Māra day will be celebrated to mark the end of the summer and to celebrate the new harvest.

Trail running is great way to explore river Gauja National park and town Cesis. Distances form 550m till 81km.

Cesis Cycling Marathon is traditional sport event in Vidzeme region for whole family. Route goes through Cesis old town and green are, including territory of Gauja national park.

During the city festival a rich and varied programme to all residents and guests of Valmiera will be offered. From 20th of Augusts till 30th of September the Science and Art Centre “Brūzis” in Cēsis offers travelling contemporary art exhibition biennale Jeune Creation Europeen, on display there are the latest trends in the European contemporary art-scene created by 56 emerging artists from Denmark, France, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Portugal and Spain.

Traditionally by the end of August one of the most competitive and prestigious stud farms of Latvia – the Kocēni Stud Farm – organizes competition in equestrian sports, where the best sportsmen and sportswomen from the Baltic States meet.
