The roots of the Unity Ride go back as far as the First Free Republic of Latvia in 1930’s. It is certainly the oldest ride of its type in Europe which is open for both professional and average cyclists at the same time. The ride was first organized in 1936 and named the Latvian Cycling Unity Ride.

On September 3, from 11:00 to 17:00 in the historic Straupe Horse Mail, Latvian winemakers will gather together. During the festivities there will be a tasting, a wine-making workshop, and wine will be made on the spot from the berries brought to visitors. The event will take place within the framework of the Straupe Slow Food Market.

During the art action, everyone can become a real artist. In different spots throughout Sigulda city will be special painting spots with all the necessary equipment – cardboards, colours, brushes etc.
